Vintage Venetian Glass Bead Neclace Gemstones

This gorgeous necklace features a vintage Venetian glass bead that was part of a necklace that my aunt bought while in Italy. A few years before she passed, my aunt gave me the necklace with the instructions to use the beads in new creations. You'll own a bit of my family history when you wear this one-of-a-kind necklace. The Venetian bead has swirls of orange and sparkly aventurine. Adventurine in glass means the glass has sparkling inclusions of gold, copper, or chromic oxide. This process was first developed in Venice in the 15th century. Dangling beneath the Venetian bead are orange faceted carnelian briolettes, yellow and light orange crystals and an orange freshwater pearl. The sterling silver chain is accented with four faceted carnelian beads. The necklace is 18 ½ inches long and finishes with a sterling silver lobster style clasp.
