Sugar Skull Necklace Artisan Copper Pendant Day Of The Dead

$48.00

Celebrate the Day Of The Dead and all things Mexico with this stunning, artisan sugar skull necklace. The handmade brass skull is a tiny work of art by jewelry component artist Staci Louise Smith. I paired it with a handmade, purple ceramic bead and many orange Czech glass flower beads. The orange flower beads represent the marigolds that decorate the oferendas, and are said to guide the souls of the dead back on Dia de los Muertos. Black and gray so-called peanut beads are strung between the flower beads and toward the back. Peanut beads have a narrow center and are wider on the ends. This causes the beads to nest together at right angles, giving the necklace a pleasant texture and visual interest. The back of the necklace is an antiqued brass chain, which finishes with a decorative brass toggle clasp.  The necklace measures 20¼ inches long and the pendant hangs 3 inches below that. This one-of-a-kind necklace make a striking impression.
